Murphy is a handsome black gentle cat whose wish is to find a guardian with the savvy and patience to bring out his inner lap cat. At times he outwardly asks for affection while at other times he is timid. He submits easily to being picked up and held for short periods, suggesting that if you can show him it is safe he will stay forever. Although he does well with other cats, he can be dominant with them at times. He'd probably do well with a confident yet submissive companion, or with a loving cat-friendly dog. Because Murphy is shy, he's not a good candidate for living with children younger than teenagers, and even they will have to exercise patience to help him blossom.
